Gifting Green Beauty
We’ve all heard it. The term that is getting thrown around the wellness world like confetti: green beauty.
Yes, green beauty is *finally* making its name in the beauty world. We’ve heard the buzz words all over Instagram. But do we actually know what it means?
What is green beauty?
Green beauty is basically a blanket term for totally natural skincare. This typically refers to your products that are made with eco-friendly ingredients, ones that are good for the environment while also being good for your overall health.
Why is green beauty important?
With the drastic change in the wellness world, we now know that toxins are put in almost everything. It turns out, our moisturizers and makeup products that we’ve been using for years have a build-up of hidden toxins.
And we thought we were doing so well at taking care of our skin.
Where do I start?
Since the beauty industry is largely unregulated, it’s up to you to do research to find the safest products. There are no legal standards for personal care products labeled as “clean,” “natural” or “organic,” so it’s time to look beyond the marketing claims and start reading the labels. I know that this is a timely process. But it’s so worth it! For the health of you, and your family.
I’m usually the lady in the middle of the aisle reading labels. Seriously, it takes me an hour to get through an isle but I have no shame in this because I want to make sure the products that I’m using are safe for me and the ones I’m buying for.
I haven’t looked back after trying LARK for the first time. Not being bias but my skin has changed for the better and the labels are easy to read so I know exactly what is going into my body.
Even more, LARK has products for the whole fam! I know that when I’m rambling on about clean beauty to my loved ones that are still using drug-store corporate brands they tune out and pray that I stop talking about this never-ending subject.
But what I have learned being a green beauty girl in a world of toxic products, is that you have to educate those around you and try not to intimidate them by throwing a whole routine their way. It’s about introducing one product at a time. At LARK, we have a gift guide for you and all of your loved ones this holiday season.
Shopping green is important. And it’s changing our definition of beauty for the better. The good news is, safe alternatives are available and there are steps you can take to detox and reduce toxic exposure to your skin. The benefits? Expect to experience a positive difference in hormone health, energy, adrenal glands, and clearer skin – to name a few!
We’re meant to put ingredients in (and on!) our body that is nourishing and reparative, so look for pure and simple ingredient lists – with words you can actually pronounce and understand! We are firm believers that less is more. And that real and intentional ingredients really do provide lasting results without sacrificing your health or well-being.
